Welcome to Call Me Church

Some of you might already know me from either my other blog (google Oracle of Film for a selection of movie reviews), or from the acting world. Some of you might have just floated here because the title caught your attention or maybe you heard rumours about a brand new independent web series that was doing the rounds. Either way, welcome. My name is Luke King Abbott and I am writing and directed, Call Me Church, an exciting new web series that, best case scenario, you will be able to watch for free on Youtube before the end of 2016.

So what is my web series about? I will flesh out the premise over the course of a few articles, but here is the working premise to give you a taster for the thrills to come:

Jasmine Spacer was a bright young girl, owner of her own Youtube cooking tutorial channel. As her channel grew, so did her c…elebrity status. Before anyone could register her ascent to fame, she was murdered, her body dumped in the house of an old friend.

Enter Kate Church. Social reclusive and drinking heavily to make it through her dead-end job, it is Kate Church who gets a knock on her door, telling her that her old friend has been killed. At first, she wants nothing to do with it, hiding herself away from the crime and her own problems. However, maybe there is still a shred of decency in her that will inspire her to get to the bottom of this brutal murder…

Essentially what you are looking at is an eight part murder mystery drama. For those that love a good mystery, you will not be disappointed. For those that love watching good characters being performed by talented actors, you will not be disappointed. For those who just want something decent to sink their teeth into online, you will, I promise, not be disappointed. So, for now, we wait. I am going to go ahead and get back to pre-production (the first filming day will be the 7th February – confirmed!).
